Alaska Fly Fishing
- World-record King Salmon? Limits of
tasty Sockeye? feisty Silver (Coho)
Salmon? Drift Alaska Charters provides the
Salmon, Halibut or Trout fishing
experience you are looking for.
Drift Alaska Charters
offers fly fishing for rainbow trout, Dollie Varden, and
sockeye salmon, which are all native to the Kenai River.
We fish the Upper, Middle and Lower Kenai River,
depending on where the fish are. The Kenai River hosts
two types of Rainbow trout- transient and resident
rainbow trout; we target the transient Rainbow trout
which is the largest. They spawn below Kenai Lake (Upper
Kenai) or Skilak Lake (Middle Kenai) in early May and
then work their way down towards the mouth of the Kenai
River in search of spawning salmon to eat.Our trout
season starts the first day of August on the Lower Kenai
River after both King salmon runs have ended. We follow
the Rainbow Trout and Dollie Varden up the Kenai River
and by mid-October the majority of the rainbows are back
below the lakes where they started. They spend the
winter here and spawn again in the spring. It is not
uncommon to catch 8-10 lb (18-22”) trout and some even
exceed 20 lbs (over 30’). |

Fly and Lure Trout Fishing in PA
-
Both PA
fly fishing and PA trout fishing are things that I have done ever since I was a little
kid. Hello anglers, I'm
Mark
"The Pennsylvania Creek Creature" Winfree.
Growing up with a creek right down the road, I spent endless hours
fishing. Then, as a teenager with a driver’s license, I began to travel
to different creeks throughout the great state of Pennsylvania in search
of new and exciting waters to explore. Combining both camping and
fishing it just seemed to be the natural fit and offered an inexpensive
way to spend the weekends. Since then I have traveled and fished many
streams, creeks and rivers in many parts of the country. Catching trout and smallmouth is fun and
rewarding whatever tackle one chooses to use. Each of the varying tackle
options uses specific techniques for catching trout. Each has their
challenges, advantages and even a few disadvantages. On my website
pages we’ll look at the different ways in which one could go about trout
fishing using different rods and reels, baits, lures and flies. We'll
also occasionally even discuss catching smallmouth bass. |

Fly Fishing Crazy
- Fish might be greatly impressed by some of today’s
“glamour” fly rods. You know the ones – trendy names,
slick advertising, hefty price tags. Truth be told, the
only thing that impresses fish is presentation. Fish
are impressed by how naturally your fly settles on the
water, how delicately your rod mends line for a
drag-free-drift, how exacting your cast is delivered to
precisely where the fish is feeding, and how sensitively
your dexterity is transmitted from rod to line to fly to
water to fish. That’s why Fly Fishing CRAZY sells FLY
FISHING RODS that are built for down-to-earth fly
fishers who want fine, affordable, honest performance
and quality above fancy labels and high
budget-advertising. Graphite FLY RODS from ELKHORN, T.L.
JOHNSON, FISH CREEK, GRAYWOLF PRODUCTS, STONE CREEK,
WRIGHT & MCGILL, and REDINGTON. Fiberglass Fly Rods
from T.L. JOHNSON and GRAYWOLF PRODUCTS. 100% U.S.A.
made Fiberglass, Graphite and Bamboo FLY RODS from T.L.
JOHNSON, as well as U.S.A. made Bamboo FLY RODS by MATT
SCHLISKE and GRAYWOLF PRODUCTS. Several
of our rods are not your "run-of-the-mill", built in
mass quantities, variety. Shipping these rods will
require a couple of extra days or even weeks, because
they need to be built,
just for you,
finished and dried before shipping.
Now that's
freshness.

- True Alaskan wilderness
experience in the comfort of a Bristol Bay fishing
lodge. Whether you fish or hunt we provide you with a
variety of opportunities and campsites on the fabled
Nushagak River. Draining into Bristol Bay, the mighty
Nushagak River remains Alaska's crown jewel King Salmon

Forest, 20 to 50 Nushagak River King Salmon hook-ups a
day are the norm during the peak. Sought by elite
anglers worldwide, the Nushagak River fishing experience
is more affordable than you realize. While many tent
camps use the term Nushagak Alaska Fishing Lodge
loosely, Bristol Bay Adventures boast the only true
lodge on the Nushagak river. Perched on a bluff
overlooking the "Nush", our Alaska fishing lodge has
permanent structures, telephone and high-speed Internet
services. Dine in our great room to gourmet meals. Enjoy
the comfort of cozy cabins, with indoor plumbing, hot
water, comfy beds and a spectacular view of the Nushagak
River from your deck. An Alaska tidal fishery, the
river's deep slough by the lodge is one of the main
Nushagak River fish holding areas as chrome bright King
Salmon barrel past the mud-flat down river, west of
Black point. This makes our Alaska fishing lodge, which
sits on 160 private acres, a superb Nushagak River
fishing hole to catch King Salmon still fresh and feisty
off Bristol Bay. These wild Alaska King Salmon can peel
line at mind numbing speed, smoking your reel and
sometimes spooling even the most experienced anglers. |
