In the past we have found that many wraparound sunglass
models are extremely difficult to add a satisfactory Rx. The
reasons for this being a problem can vary but can include frame
design, lens mounting, lens thickness and even the radical curve
of some wrap around model sunglasses.
We have
designated some models with our Rx Ready symbol to show that
these models are recommended for having the ability to add your
personal Rx (prescription) lenses. However, we are unable to
give you an exact price without discussing your Rx along with
the many available lens options that are possible. You should
also be aware that we will need a recent prescription from your
eye doctor which will include all the normal numbers pertaining
to your eyes and your prescription.
PD/ Pupilary Distance - We will also need a very important
measurement for the PD (Pupilary Distance). We would prefer to
get this measurement in both monocular and binocular but we can
work with just the standard binocular measurement if that is all
you have available. This measurement is extremely important in
making your sunglasses so that they will feel comfortable to
look through. You should be aware that some eye doctors will
charge extra to give you that measurement during a standard eye
exam.
Some of the options that we will need to discuss for your RX
lenses are:
| |
♦ |
Single Vision Lenses |
| |
♦ |
Progressive Lenses - lenses that lighten and darken
depending upon the light conditions |
| |
♦ |
Lens Color - Gray or Brown |
| |
♦ |
Bifocals |
| |
♦ |
Anti-Scratch Coating |
| |
♦ |
Hydro Coating (anti-fog) |
Once we have discussed all the options we will be able to give
you an exact quote. If you are interested in having a pair of
our Rx prescription polarized sunglasses made please call
336-542-2818 and ask for Dave Reed.
Please don't wait until the last minute to start this process.
It is important for you to realize that it can take up to two
weeks to prepare your custom Rx sunglasses.
